Sitting around with nothing to do tonight? Nope, you sure aren’t, because Xerxes is coming to town to rain down absolute raw power on Chicago’s heads. Drawing their mystic power from a radioactive abandoned quarry in Louisville, Ky, they punch you in the gut with their unique brand of hardcore. But they aren’t the only ones to watch- Chicago’s own Cavebear has developed immensely over the last couple of months of hibernation and has come storming out of the gates with a faster, more overdriven, and more metal sound. Not to mention they have some sweet logo stickers that match the CTA logo for maximum confusion. When questioned about the new direction the band has taken, bassist and ex member of Femme Fatality Alex Palermo did not mince words: “I’m not gonna lie, it’s pretty fucking rad.”
