Lovedrug show Chicago some love @ Beat Kitchen 9/17

Lovedrug seems to have always been a household name in Chicago even though they’re from Ohio. And for good reason, too … these guys have perfected a sound that is distinctly their own but still manages to echo sentiments of 90’s alt-rock, and we all know how much we miss that little something rock music had in that decade. They’ve always managed to apply a sleek precision to the production of their albums just enough to lend more of a modern touch to their sound, but those of us who still long for a tried and true Smashing Pumpkins reunion will find something inviting in Lovedrug’s music.
They just dropped their ‘Pink Champagne/Dinosaur’ split-single on September 6th and it sounds just as good as their past work (Pretend You’re Alive will always be my favorite Lovedrug album, though). The single gives us a fitting foretaste of their upcoming record, Revival, which will release sometime in early 2012. Until then, you have the chance to catch them Saturday night (that’s the 17th in case if you don’t know what day of the week it is) at Beat Kitchen. Tickets are only 10 bones and the show starts at 9 PM. Oh yeah, and it’s 17 & over - sorry to all you youngsters! These guys are a fantastic listen, so be sure to head out to Beat Kitchen tomorrow for some good, authentic rock music. And don’t forget to grab Revival when it drops early next year! -NM
